What’s one thing shoppers want on Black Friday?
Deals. Not small ones. Mega deals.
Black Friday was not really a big deal in Toronto, Canada. No pun intended. I didn’t grow up lining up after Thanksgiving dinner trying to get a TV for 75% off. But I did drive over to New York or Detroit from time to time to shop at stores like Macy’s and Bloomingdales. These department stores only existed in the US and had crazy markdowns during the Black Friday Season.
Macy’s was my favorite for obvious reasons. The store was always packed with clothing, people, and deals. The Macy’s parade was also a huge part of my Canadian fascination with the USA. I would find cute gift sets, socks, and Ralph Lauren polos at Macy’s. One of my favorite memories is going to Macy’s on Black Friday with my husband’s cousin. We would buy coffee, hop on the subway in New York, and begin our day of Black Friday shopping. The first stop would always be Macy’s.
Shopping isn’t just a task, it is sport and I have been a gold medal champion for years. I know how to shop, when to shop, and what exactly I need to be successful at shopping. Ha! I love the feeling of getting my favorite pieces for less and knowing they exactly what I wanted to buy all year.
Doesn’t it feel amazing to save big during Black Friday? I love saving extra dollars simply because every dollar saved counts. Why pay more when you can pay less. Let that sink in. But before you head out to get those deals, here are 3 ways to save big at Macy’s this Black Friday.
Find Your Local Macy’s Store
Head to Google Maps and figure out where the closest Macy’s is in your neighborhood. Save time and effort scoping out the location and the prices of the things you are interested in purchasing. You can they decide if the Black Friday deal is really a steal. Taking a few hours to prep for the sale will help you score even better deals.
Make A List
Don’t just start picking up any and everything you see simply because it is on sale. Make a list a few weeks before Black Friday with the top 10 items you want. Carefully narrow the list down to the top 5. I am sure Macy’s will have everything you have on your list. The sales will be amazing and worth the annual wait.
Bring Water
Like I said shopping is a sport and you need water and comfortable shoes. Macy’s will be crowded with excited shoppers. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. You will feel better navigating the store and shopping online if you body has all the water it needs to physically make the best purchases of the year.
