Babes Night In with Love Chauntie Events \ Hotel Via San Francisco

Filed in: Beauty, Social

Chantelle ( affectionately known as Chauntie), is a beauty guru and master event planner.  Chauntie is also a dear friend who has impacted my life greatly since moving to San Francisco…. and she has beautiful skin. Chauntie’s skin is amazing. It is very smooth and looks silky soft. So when the invite to her Babes Night In Skincare event at Hotel Via in San Francisco hit my inbox, I RSVPed ” YES” right away.

I arrived at Hotel Via with my Louis Vuitton Keepall55 and was quickly whisked away into a suite. There I found my blogging crew, was greeted by Chauntie and presented with a robe, bra sets by ThirdLove and a gift bag of all of the products I would need to learn how to care for my skin at night.  These products included skincare from Tatcha, 100% Pure, DHC Skincare, Neutrogena, Anne Marie and the list goes on.

I sat in my velvet PJs ( and slippers by @Maravalmade)  and listened to every word Chauntie said about each product.  I was amazed at her wealth of knowledge. She was teaching me evcrything I needed to know about skincare and I want to share it with you.  Here are the 5 things I learned:

1.You Need an Essence. I have been seeing Essence everywhere. The Essence we received was from Tatcha and prepares your skin to absorb all the products in your nighttime skincare routine. It is similar to a primer but for skincare products.

2. Oil Cleansing is life. I have been oil cleansing after falling in love with DHC Oil cleanser and now it is a part of my double cleansing process for my skin. An oil cleanser is the first step in cleansing your skin.  Oil cleansing will melt off all of your make up. DHC oil Cleanser is an oil based cleanser and should be poured in your hands, applied directly to your face and washed off with water.  You will feel the difference. Your makeup will come off right away. You can then follow up with another cleanser.

3. Exfloliate Girl. I love exfloliating. It makes my skin feel soft and glowing. I learned  at Babes Night In that a  rice exfoliator was the best type for my skin because it is gentle and natural. Other exfoliators may have pieces of plastic or stone which can cut your skin and leave scars.  At the Babes Night In event, I tried the rice cleanser by Tatcha and it was soft and soothing.

4. You need an eye cream at any age. The skin around the eye is thin and very sensitive. To protect it from the wear and tear of the sun and rubbing our eyes, use an eye cream . At night an eye cream works to repair the cells and strengthen them.

5. Don’t skip the serum. Serums make a difference. Trust me. I am the queen of serums because since using them, I have seen a major change in the texture and radiance of my skin. They are a super saturated skin product filled with nutrients that can target a specific skin concern. At the party, we received the Cucumber serum by 100% Pure.  Along with the natural nutrients it also had a cooling factor and was the perfect travel size.

After a night of skincare, I felt more confident about cleansing and nourishing my skin at night.

Thank you Chauntie for the invite and I loved learning about skincare from you.
