Black and White Light

Yes, I know I said the blog would be featuring less black and white and more colourful oufits. I love colour but I also love black and white… in a special way.

Black and white is easy to do. Black pants? Check. White shirt? Check. It’s simplicity seems too “ Less is more” for me. Though I do believe less is more, I rather use colour to convey the essence of the less is more movement.

Black and white patterns/prints is my way of wearing black and white. There is something about mixing black and white in a pattern or print that excites my fashion brain and makes me want to actually wear the black and white colour combo.

I was heading to a late lunch and decided to indulge in the world of black and white dressing. The skirt was a part of the Peter Pilotto for Target collection and the top is a simple H&M staple piece. Hosiery is by HUE and the shoes are my trusty Nine West Loafers purchased at Hudson’s Bay. My Celine shades stay pretty much glued to my face. They are the perfect size, shape and colour for my face.  The black ribbon choker is a DIY.

My vintage Chanel Jumbo bag is my go to bag when I wear black but I usually wear it with anything. It is a timeless investment piece and adds depth to outfits I put together. It also can hold a lot of my necessities.

So, are you a lover of black and white ?
Do you like the comfort of wearing black and white?
Does colour even appeal to you?

I’ll only wear black and white if it comes in print form an I am not talking newspapers.

Personally I’m not a lover of black & white! Too boring! I can only wear it in the way you mentioned – mixing patterns and prints! Love the patterns of the skirt and the fishnets!

    Hello Jalessa,
EXACTLY. Black and white seems too simple but patterns definitely help add some dimension.
