New York, New York. I’m back. I returned to New York for New York fashion week and it was a memorable 36 hours in the city. I was so honoured to attend New York Fashion week for the first time and it was an experience to remember.  My first NYFW week deserves more than the regular post. So I am going to change it up for this post.

Check out the deets below:

September 12, 2016- Flight and Show Day!

Early Early Morning: My husband dropped me off to the airport after buying endless bread and deli meats like we were expecting a famine. I think he was scared to be alone for the first time in a long time. So he stocked up on sandwich supplies. Ha!

The Nexuss line was crazy like complete insanity. I got in the line and then switched over to the American Express line bypass and was now at the front of a line of about 1,000,000 people. Breezed through  security and perched my fashion week self in the lounge.

Morning: The plane ride was fast and I needed the sleep.

Afternoon: Arrived in New York and took a pit stop at the American Express Centurion Lounge for lunch. UBERed to my suite at the Upper West side of New York.  Freshened up and prepped for a fun day.

Late Afternoon: Went shopping at Barney’s. Didn’t buy anything but really enjoyed the vintage collection they had displayed. I also saw this red YSL suede heart shaped fringe bag. OMG. It was perfection. Met up with my friend Tuxedo Sergio and Kara Alloway, chatted and shopped some more. We then went our separate ways to get ready to head to the Zac Posen Show

Late Late Afternoon: Took a limo from the Metropolitan Hotel to Spring Studios. Arrived to lines of people waiting to get it in. We were quickly escorted to a specific line. While I was in line:

  • I met blogger/ personality Marianna Hewitt. Dream come true.
  • Saw Model Coco Rocha, patiently waiting to enter the show as well.
  • Fashion Icon Alyson Cafiero walked in.

NO WORDS!

7:00 pm: Imagine walking  into a room with all of your fashion favorites? That is what I couldn’t breathe and totally fan girled.  Some of the people in attendance include:

  • Ms Jay- America’s Next Top Model
  • June Ambrose- Stylist and Fashion Icon
  • Uma Thurman- Actor
  • Joan Smalls- Model
  • Coco Rocha- Model
  • Marianna Hewitt- Blogger/ Personality
  • Alyscon Ciefero- Fashion Icon

7:30 pm: The show started and the fashion was abundant. The full recap is here.

8:00pm: The show ended.

8:13 pm: I met June Ambrose. The video is on my Instagram

8:30 pm: Headed to dinner at a private, sushi resto which is a fan favorite for fashion peeps, Omen.

9:30 pm: 12:30 am: Downed Sushi, edamame and Sushi rice. Chatted with my friends and sat next to Uma Thurman while she slurped down sushi as well.

1:00 am- 3:00 am: Facetimed with my husband, ate chocolate chip cookies and laughed the night away.

September 13, 2016- Breakfast, Times Square and Auntie Anne’s

5:00am: Woke up super early and headed to Times Square with Tuxedo Sergio and had a early, early morning breakfast at Evergreen. I downed two pancakes, two eggs fried hard and three turkey bacon strips.

Mid-Morning: Went to the bank to check my coinz and then walked around Times Square and took photos. Then I waited for Saks Fifth Avenue to open and browsed through the shoe section.

Afternoon: Walked back to my suite in the Upper East Side. Grabbed a coffee. Packed my bag.

Late Afternoon: Headed to the airport. Chilled in the Centurion Lounge. Ate an awesome grilled chicken lunch and fresh raspberry lemonade.

Late Late Afternoon: Walked to my gate and then found out that my flight was delayed. OKAY then.

Late Late Late Afternoon: Waited at the gate and ate my favorite Auntie Anne’s Pretzel bites.

Evening: Finally hopped on the plane.

Late Evening: Arrived in Toronto. Took the UP express( which was really fast and efficient).

Late Late Evening: Went to my bestie’s condo and recapped the whole trip with wings, pizza and frizzy drinks.

New York was a surreal experience. I hope this recap gave you an idea of what 36 fashionable hours in New York looks like.
