It happened really quickly. I was googling and found a post about this event. I RSVP-ed and received my ticket. I added the event to my calendar and BOOM… I was going to meet one of the top 5 bloggers in the world. Neiman Marcus is my favorite luxury store as you know and I really loved the one in San Francisco. So it was pleasure to visit my fav store to meet a blogger I really admired.
Aimee Song has such a unique success story and I can relate to from a life path point of view. She started as an interior designer who enjoyed taking pictures of her outfits. She slowly realized that her styles were getting a lot of attention so she posted more outfit of the day post on her good. Today she is an Instagram fashion guru. She is the queen of brand partnerships and each and every one she has, is authentic.
I headed to Neiman Marcus in an UBER. What’s new. I pulled up and though I have been there before it felt like the first time. I walked in through the beauty section and felt the stares. I was dressed up as usual but it was all for Aimee Song 🙂 .
The fourth floor of Neiman Marcus was full of fashionistas, fans and people eager to see and meet Aimee Song. I was all of the above. Aimee arrived and the room was filled with excitement. Seeing her put a smile on my face but most of all, I felt like I knew her. Her presence felt so familiar. I guess because I have watched almost every one of her Youtube videos. While the servers passed mini cupcakes and Earl Grey infused pound cake, I chatted with fellow bloggers who were also waiting for the chance to meet Aimee. I was about 8th in the queue so the wait wasn’t horrific. I observed Aimee from a far and how kind and friendly she was with each person at the book signing. Never rushing anyone, patient, smiling and talkative. It as awesome to observe someone who “made it”, really entertain and care for her audience who seem to now have become her friends. |
Now all I have to do is find a way to meet Chiara Ferrigani and Chriselle Lim.
