I love shopping. It is always fun to pick out clothing at the mall and put together looks. But there is no greater feeling than buying three yards of fabric, designing a dress and making it with your own two hands. It is so fulfilling to take a dress from design to reality in just a few days or hours.
I know I know, you don’t sew but I think you can find the same excitement in working on your own creative project. If you do sew or haven’t sewn in a while, get back on the machine and make something magical this holiday season.
Even if you can’t fully sew, try a DIY project be it a home DIY, fashion DIY.
It feels good right?
I made this green dress about 5 years ago. I found the fabric at my local fabric store and fell in love with the bright green satin finish. I took it home and realized that I had a new pattern which was perfect for the fabric. With the holiday season being here, I pulled it out of my closet and fell in love with it again. I paired this dress with my shimmery So Kate Louboutins and black fishnet stockings for a unconventional look. I am usually very matchy, matchy so it was hard to decide to wear silver shoes instead of black. #firstworldproblems.
In December, I will be featuring some of my favorite handmade dresses I have made over the years. Keep your eyes locked to my Instagram and blog to read about the stories that accompany each dress or outfit I made.
Even though I am not selling these dresses or looks, I will tag other pieces that would be just as fabulous.
I am so excited to share the Christmas Holidays with you all!
