Hermes Sale | San Francisco Review

Filed in: Uncategorized

Orange Hermes Scarf

A few weeks ago I took you along with me ( in my instastories) to the Hermes sale in San Francisco. Yes, a Hermes sale! I heard about it on Instagram and definitely didn’t believe it existed. So I decided to head out to see if it was true or not. When I heard rumours of people flying into San Francisco just for the Hermes sale, I thought it would be worth a try. Crazy right! I love Hermes not only  for their boxes but their craftsmanship. I have a few pieces from Hermes and was ready to add something new to my collection especially on sale.

So why was there a sale? Well the Hermes store in SF was moving locations and needed to clear their stock before moving. This meant they needed to have a sale. I heard about it for a week but wasn’t too sure it was worth my time. IT WAS!  I scoured photos on Instagram and saw the pictures of the pieces that people got and I was impressed.  When I actually got inside the sale I was even more impressed… more information to come about what happened inside the sale.

So I hopped in an Uber on the second to last day of the sale thinking everything would be sold out. I was wrong. Well first of all I got to the sale and the line was super duper long. I waited because I really needed to see what was inside.  I also thought it was monumental that Hermes, the great was having a sale. While in line they gave each person a large white paper bag.  They only allowed a few people in at a time. For each person that left the sale, a person was allowed to go in. While in the line the security guard said that a woman was inside from 9 am and she hadn’t come out yet. It was 1 pm!

What Was at the Hermes Sale

I was getting excited. I mean a woman was inside the sale since 9 am so it had to be good. Everything was 50% off retail! When they let me in, I walked through a little cubby hole walkway and entered into a larger open space. It was packed with Hermes boxes, clothing and shoe racks.  One side was men’s and the others was women’s. The room was divided into seven sections. Here they are:

Jewelry
Cashier area
Women’s Shoes and Boots
Men’s clothing and accessories
Men’s shoes
Scarves
Women’s clothes

Talk about variety. I headed over to the shoes immediately and was hunt for a specific pair of shoes. I found them! Yippeee! There were lots of shoes. Sandals, boots and sneakers galore. I then headed over to the scarves section because I really wanted another scarf but they didn’t have the size I needed.  I walked over to the jewelry section and there was a case of Hermes clic-clacs! O. M. G! I was in heaven but I didn’t get one. There weren’t any colors that I really liked.

I went over to the women’s clothing just to check it out but it was “no” for me. I tried to get something for my husband but they didn’t have what he wanted. I didn’t see a pair of men’s shoes for $15,000. Madness.

The Rules at the Hermes Sale

Picture

The most surprising part of the Hermes sales was the amount of rules. You could not take pictures. You could barely even have your phone out while in the sale. There was a maximum of each piece that you could buy. There were no bags at the sale. No Birkins or Kellys. Sigh. My dreams were shattered but I also knew it was not possible or realistic that a Hermes Kelly would be on sale. There were also no belts at the sale.

Was the sale worth it?  Oh yeah. Imagine cliccacs at 50% off. I saw some people going crazy in the sale with bunches of scarfs and boxes of riding boots. I really loved what I got and can’t wait to share it with you.

Would you  wait in line for the Herme sale?
If you could get anything on sale from Hermes, what would it be?
