More black and white? You are right! I whipped this up for my Mother’s Day shoot last month and my mother who is a seamstress was impressed. Ha! What an honour. I had this fabric in the back of my cupboard and pulled it out to make a top for our black and white Mother’s day photoshoot theme. But when I pulled it out, there were three yards of fabric.
So instead of making a top, I decided to make a cape dress.

So this my less formal version of Lupitas’s red carpet cape dress. I have a couple cape style dresses, suit jackets and jumpsuits. But this dress is definitely my favorite because of the movement and versatility of the design. The fabric of this dress was less structured which really gave more flexibility to the design and added more movement to the dress. The wind picked up the cape and gave it life. I draped the cape over my arm for a more editorial look but you can leave the cape to hang at the back.
Black and white print is the only way I will wear black and white. This houndstooth print was not the traditional print but the modern twist on it added character. With this dress I wore my beloved black satin sling back 100mm Louboutins (more on these shoes later). My sunglasses once again are from a junk store on Queen street. The choker was a simple black ribbon tied at the back. My hair was in a loose french roll which was nice for a change. I used to be obsessed with french rolls but then… I got over it! Sigh! I go through phases with my hair, clothes and makeup.
Didn’t I say this blog wouldn’t have much black and white and now the last couple of posts have featured black and white outfits. Confusion!
