How to Quit Your Job To Blog Full Time

Filed in: Career

” I’m sorry, we can’t keep you because there is no funding.” said my manager.

I was shocked. I was furious. But secretly I was excited. I had worked so hard in the clinical trial industry but I knew it was time for me to move on.

Chemistry was my thing. I loved it and I love clinical trials. But fashion was also my thing and I loved reading reviews of shows, making my own clothes and day dreaming of attending NYFW.

It really didn’t make sense. One day I was one of the top employees and now they were letting ME go. Huh?

Yes, I was working at one of the top 5 Cancer Centres in the world but the intense hours, the managers that used me to get ahead and the lack of appreciation was getting to me.  The prestige was quickly overshadowed by the stress of seeing a patient today and hearing they passed away the following week. Sheer. Emotional. Trauma.

But no funding? Really?

What would I do now?

If someone told me I would switch my Dr. Scholls for Louboutins, I would have laughed for days.

I walked out of that conference room on December 16, 2015 and unknowingly began a new journey. I wasn’t too clear about what I was going to do next but I knew it was going to be GREATER than this.

Here’s how you quit your job and blog full time.
