My Favs- Black Opal

Filed in: Uncategorized

Picture

This month is beauty month and I wanted to tell you about a cool product I found randomly….

You know when you are at the black hair/beauty store and you see the random makeup at the cash? That is where I usually shop for makeup. I know, I know. That is kind of weird but I always think to myself… “Quills, you could be missing out on an amazing product simply because it is not at the mall”. And I was so right.

At my local beauty supply store, I saw a wall of Black Opal products. I always knew of Black Opal and was initially introduced to the brand in Trinidad but when I returned to Toronto, I couldn’t find it anywhere.

After 6 years, I found it and was happy to try the product again. I purchased the Black Opal Oil- Absorbing Pressed Powder. Why not right? It was a fair price and matched my skintone exactly. Since then I have been using the Oil- Absorbing powder to do exactly what it says it will do… oil-absorb. Ha!  And guess what? I love it.

My makeup routine uses a variety of products that ensure my makeup is applied with precision and stays on all day long. But to refresh my face thoroughout the day, Black Opal Oil- Absorbing Pressed Powder is my go to. It is light and really takes the shine off. The packaging the a unique oval shape.

My only conern is the difficulty of opening the compac and the powder puff is a bit flimsy. But when you use a brush it works well and gives you a lovely finish. And usually you  are dabbing the areas that need to be refreshed, either way a brush or the powder puff is fine.

Have you tried Black Opal?
Did you want to give it a try?
