Where do I begin. I am writing this almost a week later but I am still on a high from one of the most memorable nights of my career as a blogger. In December of 2018, I was invited by Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco to sit on their panel entitled The Fearless Women Speaker Series. I was overjoyed but what happened next was unexpected…
In February of 2016, I was invited by Saks Fifth Avenue to attend the auspicious planting of their first Canadian location. It was a grand event and I felt so honored to witness Saks Fifth Avenue make history in Canada. My best friend Elise joined me as we spent the majority of the evening in silence savoring a powerful moment in Canadian fashion. Never would we have thought in a million years that the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue would move north to Toronto.
3 years later, I had the extraordinary privilege to announce my feature on the Saks Fifth Avenue Fearless Woman Panel at Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco. Alongside my friend and inspiration Christina Sundari, we discussed the power of new beginnings, setting goals and being Fearless women.
I arrived at 4:45 pm at Saks Fifth Avenue and was welcomed by the Saks team and quickly whisked away to the Armani counter to be pampered and prepped by Armani. After a relaxing face massage my skin was prepped and ready for my makeup application. Michael enhanced my beauty so elegantly. I loved my makeup and scurried over to the Fendi shop to to pick up last minute pieces to wear on the panel. What do you think of my Fendi tights?
I stepped into ballroom 3 and was greeted by a room full of friends, blogger colleagues and most of fall, fearless women. The room was full of positive energy and smiles. I felt confident and ready to share my Biochemist to Blogger story.
The panel was the perfect mix of powerful women. Along with my friend fitness blogger and motivational speaker Christina, the panelists were Art curator Charmin Baaque and finance speaker Caroline Matthews. The topic discussed was new beginnings and new year’s resolutions. The panel was rousing, deep and progressive. I shared and I learned from each women’s experience.
So what happened that took my breath away? The service. The Saks Fifth Avenue service was exceptional. Every step of the way I felt like I was the only person in the store. Starting at the makeup counter to actually sitting on the panel, I felt special. This is the Saks way. Everytime I go to Saks as a client and even as a panelist they make sure to give me an experience like no other.
5 Things I Shared on the Saks Fifth Avenue Panel
- Starting my blog was my husband’s idea. He suggested I share my fashion experiences with the world. Almost three years later my blog is still helping me achieve my goals.
- I taught myself French. I was going to Paris fashion week and knew French would be the preferred language. After searching on YouTube, I found a program called, Learn French with Alexa and studied weekly. The result was me asking for almond milk in French.
- I use a planner daily to accomplish my goals. In 2018, I accomplished 100% of my goals thanks to my planner. Using a planner makes a difference. You are able to track your progress and see your wins.
- FOCUS is my power word for 2019. It is so easy to get distracted with all the things around you but once you FOCUS on what matters the road gets clearer.
- My Mom is my WHY. My Mom was diagnosied with Alzehemiers. I watch my Mom fearlessly fight the disease with a smile on her face. Her daily pursuit of happiness, joy and love compel me to work a little harder and accomplish more. I love you Mom.
