Though I have been feeling antique and vintage furniture, it has been great visiting stores with modern, chic and sleek furniture. In Toronto, Structube, EQ3 and Art Shoppe are popular options. So I was looking for similar options in California. I stumbled upon Room & Board and was stunned and surprised by the wide variety in their home collection. In my quest for furniture to add my home, Room & Board was a great inspiration and source of information. The staff were helpful and provided much advice on styling, important furniture pieces and how to make a space ”home”.
Kirsten Grove, the author of Simply Styling hosted a book launch event at Room & Board. I had all plans of attending the book signing for Kirsten Grove but I fell ill.
Kirsten Grove is an interior stylist who has with the power of social media and her blog www.simplygrove.com, displayed her awesome talent for home design. Kirsten’s hard work is featured in publications and sites such as Inside Out Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Real Living Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, Gray Magazine, Elle Decor.com, HGTV.com, Pottery Barn, Domino.com, Apartment Therapy and Design Sponge.
Though I couldn’t physically be there, I was able to follow Kirsten around via Instastore and find some helpful tips for styling my home. Here are the tips I got from Kirsten on how to decorate your home:
Add Ceramics. I remember my mom used to make ceramics and I wasn’t a fan but things have changes 20 years later. The ceramics Kirsten showed on her Instagram were beautiful and added a homemade touch to the room. * heads to etsy to pick up a vase or two*.
Look at the whole space. Kirsten was re-styling the spaces on Instastories. I was amazed by how she made a few changes and the space looked like a completely different room. I know when I am putting things to gether at home I usualy am focused on e on design piece when really I should be looking at the whole room.
I haven’t purchased the book as yet but from I definitely will be picking it up. Thank you Room & Board for hosting this event ( Even though I got sick) and for helping me get my home in order.
