I love making handmade cards. Stickers, glue, scissors and markers are my best friends. My family knows that even if the gift is not the thing they wanted, the card will really stand out. I know, I know, you might not have any talent or a morsel of creativity in you but these sweet DIY cards are easy to make. Use them as inspiration of to make your own.
Materials needed:
- White Cardstock, pick the colour you like
- Markers, variety of colours
- Mars chocolate bar
- Mike and Ike candies
- Chocolate loonies
- Cellophone cookie bag with ribbon
- Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
TIP: Check the dollar store for all of the materials. They usually have the best price.
Love You to MARS and back Dad
You are So Cool Dad
I then went back and highlighted the letters to make then bolder.
I selected 3 matching pairs of Mike and Ike candies and glued them to the card in the places I wanted them to be and then drew brown sticks to they look like Popsicle sticks.
Using my markers, I drew a mouth with a tongue, some sunglasses and a sun.
Ta da!
TIP: These cards do not have to be perfect. They are suppose to be fun and a personalized touch to any gift. Write the letter crooked, swirly, add your own touch!
Dad, I Owe You
Then I drew a money bag, $5 bill, coins, a Yen and British Pound sign to go with the money theme.
I filled the cellophane cookie bag with chocolate loonies from the dollar store and tied it with a ribbon.
On the inside of the card it says, ” For all that you have done for me”.
If you owe your Dad, this is the best time to pay him back… with chocolate loonies.
Tag me on instagram if you DIY any of these cards.
Happy Father’s Day!
