What to wear to a destination wedding

I just came back from Jamaica where I witnessed one of the most beautiful weddings ever.  The bride was a long time friend who had over 100 people fly to Jamaica to support her. Everything about the wedding was stunning. I was so happy to witness her get married. Congrats Tasha and Kwaku,

Destination weddings can be tricky especially when it is a hot destination. The heat can really make it difficult because you want to be comfortable. Because of the heat you want to stay cool. You never really know with a destination wedding. It could be on the sand or on grass or on concrete. You may not know the conditions before you get there to wear cool clothing and comfy shoes. You. Just. Don’t. Know. So be prepared.

I have summed up my tips for planning a destination wedding look below:

For my look, I had it all together. I knew the wedding would be on grass so I wore black flats from Zara. I made my dress from one of the fabrics I purchased during my trip to Dubai. I was going for a breezy yet shocking look. This fabric was literally FIRE! The bright fabric added the boldness and the cut gave me a comfy look. My statement piece was my head chain. It completed my goddess look.

My baby stole the show though. My husband saw the fabric that I had and he had a few different shirts but this dashiki was the best match for my look. His pants were custom made by one of the best tailors during our time in Dubai. He looked awesome. He matched my flyy!

Are you heading to a destination wedding soon?
